June 11 -13, 2009 Bridges: An Arts & Culture Festival in Our City The festival will take place at the University of Northern British Columbia. There will be displays and performances of original work by Prince George visual artists, writers, and musicians; academic presentations, panel discussions on the cultural economy of small cities and the culture of small cities, with a focus on Prince George; and workshops for both artists and community organizers. Local artists and arts organizations will be in the spotlight as they share audiences, network, and build new partnerships with one another. Please see LINKS for details.

March 2009 Celebrate World Water Day at the opening of UNDERCURRENTS: Turbulence Beneath the Surface Images and Comments on the State of our Waters. Everyone is invited to the opening celebration at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2009 at Artspace, At this free event: meet the artists, enjoy some refreshments, discuss the issues, watch the film F.L.O.W., For the Love of Water, which will begin at 3:30 p.m. following the opening. UNDERCURRENTS runs until April 30, 2009.

August 15, 2008. The artist's talk was well attended and well received. The exhibit has been dismantled. My sketch book is burgeoning with new images for future works. I'll gather more images and ideas as we re-visit northern B.C. Watch this space for further postings. Happy Summer!

Judith DesBrisay exhibited at Two Rivers Gallery 2008
“Geographies” Judith DesBrisay explores the interplay of person and place in her recent acrylic paintings. The series “Geographies” reflects observations made while travelling and speaks to her experiences while living within a wilderness setting outside of Quesnel, B.C. The Two Rivers Gallery will also exhibit "Constellations" a selection of innovative works by Montréal’s Jérôme Fortin who transforms recycled materials in much of his meditative artwork.
