Two Rivers Gallery’s permanent Collection is a diverse holding of artworks, in a range of media, produced in large part after the collection began in 1986. Numbering around 430 objects by about 140 artists, the collection embodies many different perspectives and worldviews. This exhibition draws on work by women in the collection honouring their contributions to contemporary art in Canada.

Judith's Geography X is among the selected works for Her Voice. This 60 x 48 inch acrylic painting is part of a series of works that explored person and place: at home and away. The Geographies series was exhibited in 2008 at Two Rivers Gallery Canfor Gallery.

The Quesnel Art Gallery and Gift Shop is officially open again for limited capacity with care filled guidelines! The new exhibit, Artists in Isolation, features local artists as a "jump-start to get them back into showing their work. Along with their art, the featured artists have written statements as to how the pandemic has affected their work and artistic process which will be displayed in the gallery", states Gallery Director Marguerite Hall.

Every piece of art created is influenced by the life and visual experience of the artist. Judith and Megan's works originated in recognition and appreciation of fourteen contemporary and historic artists they both admire and respect. The twenty new artworks created for Inspirations employ elements from a variety of paintings, sculptures, photographs, and drawings. The materials utilized in creating these works include oils, acrylics, resin, paper, digital processes, and gold leaf on canvas and hardboard. Judith and Megan invite Gallery guests to look closely and appreciate the incredible works of their chosen masters and to discover the elements in each piece that inspire the viewer.

IMA is excited to again partner with Integris Credit Union, Savalas Steak House, Barkerville Brewing and Bench 1775 Winery to present this online & live Auction Fundraiser & Dinner at CNC College in Quesnel, BC.

The online auction runs until midnight on Friday, June 1, after that all the items will move to the live auction on Saturday, June the 2nd at the College of New Caledonia in Quesnel. If you can't attend the live auction: enter a proxy bid online up to the highest amount you are willing to go.

This fundraiser will help support all the programs that IMA delivers including the Toni Onley Artists’ Project, the International Harp School, the ArtsWells Festival of All Things Art, the exhibitions at the IMA Gallery and the new Artist-in-Residence program.

Possibilities is exhibited at the WILLIAMS LAKE STATION HOUSE GALLERY in the main gallery.

Emerging from her fascination with the Earth in all its forms, Judith DesBrisay’s Possibilities series grew out of her South American experiences. The paintings are, however, based upon sketches made of the luxuriant growth in her Central Interior garden. The Possibilities paintings reflect Judith’s delight when she is immersed in “nature”, a joy made more intense by the imminent threats to its beauty.

The organic shapes of the Possibilites paintings, both monochromatic and vivid in hue, depict the forms, colours, and light ablaze in our lives. The paintings are a celebration of life!

Connor Kenney is exhibiting his "Woman Inside the Man" life sized sculptures in the upstairs gallery concurrent with Judith's paintings on display in the main gallery.

This post is about an important art exhibit "Who Will Listen to Our Stories?" which revolves around an extensive selection of wonderful art works by Sylvia Regehr Graham : Quesnel artist, forester and friend.
Sylvia's sister, Dorothy, has worked with Bill Graham, Sylvia's husband, and other friends plus key persons in Winnipeg to present the exhibit: opening May 3, 2013. The exhibit [May 3 until June 22, 2013] will include art works created by participants of the Art Therapy Program at Cancer Care Manitoba. It will be presented at the Mennonite Heritage Centre Gallery.
